Fifty-three clubs from 44 nations will take part in the competition. The first UEFA Women's Champions League final will be held in Madrid on Thursday 20 May 2010

Sixteen teams will compete at the World Cup finals. Two-time defending world champions Germany will be automatically qualified as the host nation. Other national teams will start qualification in their continental confederations in 2009 and 2010 respectively.

ALGARVE CUP 2010

The Algarve Cup is a global invitational tournament for national teams in women's football (soccer). Held annually in the Algarve region of Portugal since 1994, it is one of the most prestigious women's football events, alongside the Women's World Cup and Women's Olympic Football.

Euro Championships, Finland 2009

Euro 2009 involves 12 teams, an expansion of four from the 2005 finals, including hosts Finland. Holders Germany have already secured qualification and will be joined by five other group winners and six teams from play-offs
